Assault rifles can bruise you over time if you don't hold them right but you almost have to try. Older "battle rifles" like the Mosin-Nagant or 8mm Mauser etc can kick like a mule with narrow hard wood stocks. If you get a large caliber you can def hurt your shoulder firing it if you've got a poorly designed stock. It's time to try something different.ġ- not at all, easier than a pistol. What you're doing today isn't working for you. That's why you need to get away from them. Yeah it's boring and unfulfilling compared to video games and screaming news sites. Sometimes that makes it hard to remember we're just people and there are things we love about being alive. It's easy to get caught up in all the shit. No news sites, no news radio, no NPR, no in depth reporting, no discussion about it with people you know. Productive interfacing with your representatives and senator might help with some of the hopelessness from politics.or literally just shut off the god-damned news. Neither might do the trick but it's the first step and needs to be taken before assessing anything else. The prescription is personal improvement along with some kind of therapist. The abyss beckons and you don't need any help tripping over there edge while you stare too long into it. Just don't spend time alone with the damn things. Train up with airsoft or paintball maybe. I advise against firearms while feeling this despondent.

It's rather asinine to say so simply but it sounds like you either just need something simple you can take pride in or some drugs.

You may be precisely the sort of person I'm taking about when I say that it's not mental health that's a problem in the US, it's lack of hope and purpose.
